Joining the Club

We are a mixed club and Membership is available to both Men and Women in all membership categories.

You can join as a "Full Playing Member" and enjoy the challenges of playing the sport along with the social side or you can be a "Social Member" only and enjoy the facilities of the clubrooms, the choice is yours.

Full Playing Members

Full playing members are:

  1. First Year Players: Those who have never played before and wish to learn the sport.
  2. 1-5 years (previously known as Junior Players): Those defined by a club playing membership which does not exceed a total of five years dating from 1st July in any year to 30 June in the following year, may have played at a another club.
  3. 1-8 years: Those defined by a club playing membership which does not exceed a total of eight years dating from 1st July in any year to 30 June in the following year, may have played at a another club.
  4. Student: Those playing members 19 years of age and under in full time education.
  5. Open Players: Those who have played for more than five years, may have played at a another club.

Each is entitled to all the privileges of membership of the club.

Social Members

Social members may take part in all the "Social" amenities only - that is all the activities in the clubhouse. They are not permitted to play bowls unless they intend becoming a "Full Playing Member".

Introductory Membership

Not sure if the Bowling Club is right for you? Come and try out the Club for one month for $10 and if you end up joining we will deduct the $10 off what every membership catergory you choose.

Sign up at the Club bar to start enjoying your one month Introductory Membership.

Introductory Membership is valid for one month from the date of joining, No reciprocal visiting rights. Introductory Members shall automatically lose their Introductory Membership status at the conclusion of the one month period from the date of joining; or upon admission as a Social Member or Full Member, whichever is earlier. Introductory Membership cannot be extended and is not renewable.

If joining the Birkenhead Bowling Club for the first time new playing members may be entitled to the reduced subscription after Opening Day, conditions apply.
Subscriptions are for the 12 months 1 July -  30 June or part there of.

You can now pay your fees directly into the Birkenhead Bowling Club bank account.

How To Join

Call into the club and we will go through the process with you, only takes minutes. Bring along one form of photo ID with you.

With the help of two "Full Members" of the club, complete the application form. The application is then processed by the Secretary who, after the Board of Management has considered it, will advise of the procedure to follow.

All new members are required to sign the club's Code of Conduct and make themselves familiar with the Club's Social Media Policy, a copy of both can be found below.
